Songs from Broadway musicals will be performed by local theatre students this weekend as the Coal City Theatre Department presents Broadway Bound, a musical cabaret.
The performers—students from Coal City High School and Middle School— will present an evening of some of Broadway’s best musical theatre songs and the community is invited to join the theatre department at 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 28 for this special event in the Coal City Performing Arts Center.
Admission is free, however the students will be accepting donations that will go directly to off-set the cost of their upcoming trip to New York City in spring 2024. The educational trip will allow students to explore careers in the theatre arts through interactive workshops with Broadway actors, theatre and backstage tours and Broadway productions.
