Kindergarten Camp Out!

Students in Mrs. Haab’s kindergarten class enjoyed a day of learning at the Kindergarten Camp Site.

Tables were turned into tents as students practiced their learning alongside Alf, the newest Superkid in our reading program. Alf loves to camp and go on adventures, so kindergartners had their own learning adventure day.

Students completed their phonics work at the campsite. They are working very hard on sounding out and writing CVC words with good handwriting on the lines.

“ We had a fun ‘brain break’ activity on the screen where we went through the forest and had to dodge, duck, and jump over things that popped up along the hiking trail. When the bear came, they had to run and hide in their tents until it was gone,” Mrs. Haab said. “The children also completed their math and computer work in their tents. It was a busy day of learning at the Kindergarten Camp Site, so we ended the day with a little S’mores snack around the campfire which consisted of Golden Grahams cereal, marshmallows, and chocolate chips.”
