Coal City Middle School houses sixth through eighth grades and opened to students in 1999, and Coal City High School, constructed in 1970 and expanded in the 1990s and 2000s, houses ninth to 12th grades. The high school campus features renovated sports facilities including a multi-purpose turf stadium, baseball and softball fields, as well as an 800-seat Performing Arts Center. The school district’s administrative offices, opened in 2017, are located on the campus of Coal City Middle School.
