Students in Mrs. Welch’s Biology classes at Coal City High School have been studying DNA and the importance our genetic code has on our lives. Students applied their knowledge of DNA and RNA to create large, colorful diagrams directly on their lab tables using chalk markers. Working collaboratively, they illustrated key concepts of DNA and RNA structure and function. This hands-on activity allowed the students to be creative while also reinforcing key molecular biology concepts. This activity led to impressive drawings that supported both learning and discussion amongst the groups.
