Celebrating fall with color

First grade students at the Early Childhood Center learned all about primary and secondary colors in art class. They practiced singing the Primary Color Song and dancing along. They also looked at examples of primary and secondary colors in famous pieces of art. The first graders had fun mixing yellow and red to make their own shade of orange for a pumpkin, and mixed blue and yellow to make their own shade of green for the grass. They were inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night and used his repetitive brush strokes in their purple sky. Art teacher Mrs. Brncich shared these pieces were the perfect way to celebrate the fall season!
