Senior members of the Coalers Girls Tennis Team were recognized during Senior Night activities on Sept. 29. Honored for their commitment and contributions to the program were—Bridget Feeney, Becca Hall, Kamryn Hansen, Kyla Kohler, Mackenzie Lovell, Camryn Planeta, Sophia Spoto and Olivia Weatherbee.
Bridget Feeney is a four year member of the tennis program and played doubles in her senior year. Bridget is also involved in National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Coalers with Character, Link Leaders, Science Club, Pickleball Club, Future Business Leaders of America [FBLA], Drama Club and Yearbook at Coal City High School. After graduating in May, Bridget plans to continue her education at a four year university. Accompanying Bridget on Senior Night were her parents, Kevin and Peggy Feeney.
Becca Hall is in her fourth year with the Coaler Tennis Team and has made significant contributions during that time. In addition to tennis, Becca is also involved in Coalers Basketball, Coalers with Character and National Honor Society. Becca’s future plans are to attend a 4-year college or university following graduation. Her parents, Dave and Jen Hall accompanied her on Senior Night.
Kamryn Hansen is in her final year with the Coalers Tennis Team and she has seen great success on the court. As a student-athlete at Coal City High School she is also involved in National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Coalers with Character, Pickleball Club, Science Club and Yearbook. After graduation, Kamryn plans to attend a four year university to study chemistry and then continue on to dental school. On Senior Night, Kamryn was accompanied by her mom, Jamie Hansen.
Kyla Kohler is a four year member of the Coalers Tennis Program and has made significant contributions to the team throughout her career at Coal City High School. In addition to tennis, Kyla is a member of Spanish Honor Society and participated in band. Following graduation, Kyla plans to continue her education at a four year college or university to pursue a career in nursing. Accompanying Kyla on Senior Night were her parents, William and Jillian Kohler.
Mackenzie Lovell is in her second season with the Coalers Tennis Team. At Coal City High School, Mackenzie is also involved in National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Science Club, Math Team, and Link Leaders. Mackenzie’s post high school plan is to major in engineering at a four year college or university. Mackenzie was accompanied by her mom, Michelle Linn, on Senior Night.
Camryn Planeta is a four year member of the Coalers Tennis Team and has played a significant role in the program's success. Camryn keeps a busy schedule participating in SADD, Coalers with Character, Project EmpowHer, and National Honor Society. This spring she will be back on the field as a member of the Coalers Girls Soccer Team. Camryn’s post high school plans find her attending the University of Iowa to major in nursing with the intention of becoming a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse. On Senior Night, Camryn was accompanied by her parents, Brock and Nikki Planeta.
Sophia Spoto joined the Coalers Girls Tennis Team in her senior year and capped the team's Senior Night celebration with a thrilling match and win. As a student at Coal City High School she has also participated in volleyball. After graduation in the spring, Sophia plans to attend a four year college or university, become a flight attendant and when not flying working with clients at a hair salon. On Senior Night, Sophia was accompanied by her mom, Tracy Galass and sister, Emily Spoto.
Olivia Weatherbee is a four year member of the Coalers Tennis Team and was recognized on Senior Night for her contributions to the team’s success. As a Coaler, Olivia has also participated in Student Ambassadors, Track and Field, Math Team, National Honors Society, Link Leaders and Project EmpowHer. Following graduation, Olivia plans to continue her education at a four year college or university to pursue a degree in diagnostic medical sonography. Olivia was escorted on Senior Night by her mom, Robin Fincher and dad, Brandon Weatherbee.
