Last weekend the Marching Coalers traveled to Pontiac to compete in their first contest of
the season.
The band competed in Class B at the Pontiac Showdown Marching Band Contest. The students performed movements one and two of their 2025 field show titled Rearrange that
includes music written by Jeff Chambers, The Sound of Silence by Disturbed and Hide and
Seek by Imogen Heap.
The Marching Band had a very successful first performance despite the heat. The band won Best Percussion and Best Colorguard in their class and placed fourth overall. They also received second place in a few of the subcategories including Music Performance and Visual Performance Individual.
On Saturday, Sept. 20, the Band will travel to Northern Illinois University where they will compete in the Red and Black Fall Classic.
