It's another victory for the Coalers Girls Tennis team. The team extended its winning streak to four consecutive matches after a solid performance against Bishop McNamara. The final score was Coal City 6, McNamara 0, bringing the team's record to 4-1.
The Coalers posted decisive wins in both singles and doubles:
- Rebecca Hall (No. 1 Singles) led the charge with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 victory.
- Lanie Winke (No. 2 Singles) secured a powerful win, 6-0, 6-1.
- Kyla Kohler (No. 3 Singles) added to the sweep with a solid 6-2, 6-2 final score.
- In doubles, the team of Camryn Planeta and Kyla Stark (No. 1 Doubles) won 6-2, 6-1.
- Kamryn Hansen and Bridget Feeney (No. 2 Doubles) dominated their match, winning 6-0, 6-1.
- Mackenzie Lovell and Olivia Weatherbee (No. 3 Doubles) leveled up their play, winning 6-1, 6-3.
“The Coalers are showing incredible teamwork and skill. With this kind of momentum, they are poised for a fantastic season,” said Coach Matt Leman.
Next up for the Coalers, the Varsity Team will host a Quad with Mendota, Princeton and GCMS on Saturday, Sept. 6 starting at 8 a.m. and the JV Team will head to the LaSalle-Peru Invite with matches beginning at 8:30 a.m.
