Building bonds that make the Early Childhood Center shine

Learning does not stop at 2:45 p.m. for one of the Coal City Early Childhood Center’s youngest learners, Huxtin Owensby, who eagerly anticipates the minute he spots “Trashman Travis” coming down the hall.

Huxtin shadows Mr. Johnson on all of his trash pick-ups around the first grade wing. He has learned about breaking down boxes, where supplies are stored, and even Facetimed with Mr. Johnson’s wife to say hello.

This type of relationship is exactly what makes the Early Childhood Center the most special place.
