In the month of June, dedicated educators of the Coal City Community Unit School District #1 collectively logged over 1,090 hours to enhance and strengthen student learning experiences.
Throughout the summer work period, teachers revised and developed common assessments, ensured curriculum alignment with Illinois Learning Standards, and fulfilled all state-mandated requirements.
Jennifer Kenney, the district director of curriculum and instruction shared that this important work plays a vital role in preparing the district's schools for the year ahead and supporting high-quality instruction across all grade levels.
The new and revised curriculum will be presented to the Board of Education in August, and curriculum for new courses will be presented for approval.
“Thank you to the Board of Education for allowing us to complete this very important work,” Kenney said.
