Coalers selected to district band and chorus festival

Every fallCoal City High School  students are encouraged to audition for the Illinois Music Educators Association[ILMEA]  band and chorus district festival.  This year Coal City had 15 students who decided to challenge themselves and audition.

Out of those 15, four students will participate in the district festival on Saturday, November 18 at Elmhurst University.

Students selected to the Senior Chorus are juniors Melody Kinder and  Mason Natyshok, and sophomore Olivia Sage.  One student, junior  Mackenzie Messina, was selected to participate in the  Senior Band.

To gain experience at this festival, the chorus allows each director to nominate students who are in their freshman or sophomore year.  The students who were nominated by director Michael Kren  for the 9th and 10th grade choir are Caroline Childers, Audrina Marshall, Jordan Olson, and Martin Ramirez.
