Coaler football players, cheerleaders honored on Senior Night

Senior members of the Coaler football team and cheer squad were honored for their dedication to the high school athletic program during Senior Night.


Kilen Davidson has been a football cheerleader for all four years of high school. She is also involved in the Coal City Theatre Department and is a member of drama club. Additionally, she is a company member of the On Broadway Dancers. Kilen was accompanied on Senior Night by her parents, Dale and Amanda Davidson. Her future plans are to attend Illinois State University to major in nursing and minor in dance. 


Carlie Ellena has been a member of the cheer team for two years. On Senior Night she was accompanied by her parents, Joy and Mike Ellena. Along with cheer, she participates in the high school art club. After high school, Carlie plans to study radiology at Joliet Junior College. 


Avah Housman has been a football cheerleader for two years and is also on the basketball and competition cheer teams. She was escorted on Senior Night by her parents, Becky and John Housman. Her future plans are to pursue a degree in physical therapy. 


Ava Houston is a four year football cheerleader. She also participates in basketball and competition cheer, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and Coalers with Character. Ava was accompanied on Senior Night  by Tracy and Devon Elliott. After high school she plans to continue her education at a four year university. 


Creide Skubic  is a four year member of the Coaler football team and a team captain. He was honored on Senior Night along with his parents, Craig and Carrie Skubic. Creide is also a member of the baseball team. He is currently undecided about his plans after high school. 


Gavin Carpenter has been on the field for the Coalers for the past four years and served as a captain this season. He was accompanied on Senior Night by his parents, Joel and Krystle Carpenter. Gavin also plays basketball for the Coalers. He is currently undecided about his plans after high school.


Joe Watson is a four year member of the football team. He also participates in baseball and Coalers with Character. Honored for his dedication to the program, he was accompanied on Senior Night by his parents,  Keith and Anne Watson. His future plans are to become a chiropractor. 


Wyatt Wickiser has participated in football for four years and is also a member of the baseball team. Additionally, he participates in Coalers with Character and National Honor Society. He was accompanied by his parents Denny and Kristi Wickiser. Following graduation he plans to attend the University of Mississippi to earn a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and master’s degree in physical therapy. 


Dakota Pierce is a four year football player for the Coalers. Accompanied by his parents, Justin and Sandy Pierce, he was among 25 players honored on Senior Night. His post high school plans are to become a firefighter. 


Luke Nolan has been on the Coaler football team for all four years of high school. He also participates in basketball and baseball. Luke’s mom, Christine Nolan, accompanied him on Senior Night. His future plans are to attend Joliet Junior College to study civil engineering. 


Tanner Wallace is a four year member of the Coaler football team. He also plays baseball and participates in Coalers with Character. Tanner was escorted on Senior Night by his mom, Ashley Doglio. He plans to continue playing football after high school and will attend Benedictine University where he will major in criminal justice. 


Max Hone has been on the football field all for years of high school and was honored for his contributions on Senior Night. Joining him were his parents Michael and Ambur Hone.  Max also participates in Coalers with Character, student council and drama club. His future plans are to enroll in technical education courses at Joliet Junior College.


Reis Scheer has played three years of high school football and was honored on Senior Night with his parents, Laurie and Rick Scheer.  He also participated in track and field at Coal City High School. Reis is also involved in Boy Scouts serving with Troop 12 in Western Springs. His future plans involve law and politics.


Landon Pollworth is a two year member of the Coaler football team and was recognized for his contributions on Senior Night. Landon was accompanied by Kristina and Scott Meyer. He plans to continue his education at Joliet Junior College and then transfer to a four year college.


Colten Sztapka has played football all four years of high school. He is also involved in basketball and track. Colten was accompanied on Senior Night by his parents, Stan and Lisa Sztapka. His future plans are to study aviation at Auburn University. 


Chase Dehler has worn the Coaler football uniform for four years and was recognized for his contributions to the program on Senior Night. He was accompanied by his parents, Charissa and Jeff Dehler. Chase is also involved in wrestling. After high school he plans to pursue a career as a paramedic/firefighter. 


Ethan Scrogham was on the football field all four years of high school. He participates in track and field, student council, madrigals, Coal City Theatre Department, Coalers with Character, FBLA. He was accompanied on Senior Night by his parents Ali and Brent Scrogham. He plans to continue his education after high school at a yet to be selected college. 


Austin Davy, a Coaler captain, has been a member of the Coaler football team all four years of high school and he was recognized along with his parents, Brent and Kristina Davy, on Senior Night. He also participates in baseball. Following graduation in the spring, he plans to attend college and earn a degree in engineering. 


Matthew Perino is a two year member of the football team, having previously played soccer for the Coalers. His contributions to the football program were recognized on Senior Night and he was accompanied by his parents Nicolle Albrecht and Robert Perino. His future plans are to enter the field of commercial real estate. 


Layne Cuddy is a four year member of the Coaler football team. He also plays baseball and is a member of the bass fishing team. Lyane was accompanied on Senior Night by his parents, Shane and Shawna Cuddy. His post high school plan is to enlist in the United States Marine Corps. 


Owen Kurdenok has worn the Coaler football jersey for the past four years and his commitment to the team was recognized on Senior Night. He was accompanied by his mom, Kristin Kurdenok and Aaron Schimandle. Owen is a member of Coalers with Character.  His future plans are to attend college to major in business and finance. 


Jim Feeney is a four year member of the football team and served as one of the captains this fall. He also participates in basketball and baseball for the Coalers. Jim was honored on Senior Night along with his parents, Kevin and Peggy Feeney. His future plans are to attend a four year college.


Ethan Hennings has been a member of the Coaler football team for four years. His dedication to the program was recognized on Senior Night. He was escorted by Jamie Balcom and Mark Hennings. His post high school plans are currently undecided. 


Stephen Byers, Jr. is a four year member of the Coaler football team. His high school activities also include being a part of the Coal City Theatre Department,, drama club choir and Music Honor Society. Stephen was escorted on Senior Night by his parents Stephen and Becky Byers. Following graduation, he plans to attend college majoring in musical theatre. 


TJ Babcock has been a part of the football program throughout high school and his  dedication to the team was honored on Senior Night. He was accompanied by his parents, Michelle Williams and Tim Babcock. TJ plans to attend the University of South Florida, his course of study remains undecided. 


Aiden Christopher is a four year member of the Coaler football team and his contributions to the program were honored on Senior Night. He was accompanied by his parents, Erin and Mark Christopher. Aiden is also involved in Coaler basketball. His future plans are undecided. 


Ryan Endrst was honored on Senior Night for his four years of participation in Coaler football. He was escorted by his parents, Jenn and John Endrst. Ryan is enrolled in the GAVC welding program and WILCO Local 150, and his future plan is to utilize his training to enter the trades and become an operating engineer. 


Brant Widlowski is a two year member of the Coaler football team and he was honored along with his parents, Misty and Joe Widlowski, on Senior Night. He is also a Coaler wrestler and bass fishing team member and he participates in Coalers with Character. His plan for the future is to attend college to study finance. 


Tanner Phillips is a four year member of the football team and his dedication to the Coalers was recognized on Senior Night. He was escorted by his parents, Angie and Matt Phillips. Tanner also participates in track and field. His future plans are to enroll in college.
