Last week first grade students at Coal City Early Childhood Center celebrated Read Across America Week. Each day they participated in themed dress up days and enjoyed various activities to celebrate Dr. Seuss.
On Tuesday, March 5 they read” The Sleep” book and wore PJ’s. Wednesday the students dressed like a teacher and the teachers dressed up like students while we read “Wacky Wednesday.” Thursday was “Cat in the Hat” day. Students wore hats and Dr. Seuss shirts. The week ended with the story “Fox in Sock” while wearing crazy socks. Principal Mrs. Davidson came into classrooms and read a Dr. Seuss book to the students as well.
