It's been a pumpkin filled month in the second and third grade library with Mrs. Erhard at Coal City Elementary School.
“We kicked off the month with a paper pumpkin decorating contest. We had 116 students participate, students and staff participated in a blind vote on which ones they liked best. So much creativity,” Mrs. Erhard said.
They also read "Pumpkin Jack" by Will Hubbell and started their very own pumpkin life cycle project, using pumpkins grown from last year's project.
“We will watch and compare one carved pumpkin vs. one uncarved pumpkin decompose and hopefully result in next year's pumpkins,” Mrs. Erhard said.
